Hi!! It is Ricki’s week for a long post, so I’ll update next week 🙂 But as always, you can learn more about what I’ve been reading by checking out my 2022 Goodreads Challenge page or my read bookshelf on Goodreads.

I finished Watch Us Rise by Renée Watson and Ellen Hogan. It is a powerful book, and I loved the discussion it offered for intersectionality. I also appreciated the book’s interrogation of body image and body weight and critiques of feminism. I highly recommend this one.

I haven’t decided what my next book will be. I am thinking I will read Parachutes by Kelly Yang. A friend recommended it. 🙂

I’m planning on reading Parachutes in August! It’s on my Must Read List this year.
I loved Parachutes! It’s definitely mature…but so powerful. I also enjoyed Watch Us Rise-it was very powerful and inspiring.
Watch Us Rise is on my list. I encourage you to read Parachutes. There is a lot in it. The two characters seem to be really disparate, but have more in common that we would like.
Ricki, I wasn’t familiar with Watch Us Rise, but it looks like an excellent read! And I second everyone else’s recommendations of Parachutes—I read it 2 years ago, and it is an incredibly powerful read! Thank you both so much for the great post and link round-up!
